Senegalese music star Akon shares one of his most precious hit songs that changed his life. The international superstar took a moment to reflect on the track that catapulted him to global fame.
The 52-year-old music star shared on his Twitter about his 22-year-old track ‘Lonely’ and how it has been beneficial to him as he praises his fans. “Hard to believe it's been 22 years since 'Lonely' dropped. This record changed everything for me, but it's the fans who made it legendary,” he stated.
Akon sang the emotional track "Lonely" in 2004 when he was 33 years old. Released on his debut album Trouble, the song became an instant global hit. Often referred to as "Mr. Lonely," the track features a memorable whistle hook and samples Bobby Vinton's 1964 classic "Mr. Lonely."
