Turkish footballer Sinan Engin has revealed the actual reason Victor Osimhen was not present in the Konyaspor vs Galatasaray Süper Lig match. The Nigerian striker was absent during the weekend fixture, which ended in a surprising 2-0 defeat for the league leaders.
According to a post by Habersarikirmizi, the former Turkish forward believes that Osimhen’s absence was not due to a dispute over payments. Addressing the allegations that Osimhen refused to play because he hadn’t received his salary, Engin dismissed the claims entirely. "He didn’t play because he wasn’t getting paid. He’s not that kind of kid," he stated.
Sinan insisted that Osimhen was not injured, contrary to the official explanation provided by Galatasaray. Instead, he argued that the decision was a tactical one made by the player to preserve his fitness. "I can agree with Osimhen on this: He might have said, ‘The European arena is more important for me. The Juventus match is more important. I want to prove myself there. My teammates will take care of the Konyaspor match anyway,’" Engin explained.
