Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has returned to his club side after helping the Super Eagles secure a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The striker concluded his international duties with Nigeria following the bronze-medal playoff and has now shifted his focus back to club football.
Osimhen left the Super Eagles camp immediately after the bronze-medal match against Egypt, which ended in a goalless draw after regulation time. Nigeria went on to secure victory through penalties, converting four successful spot kicks to seal third place at the tournament. Following the match, Osimhen travelled straight to Turkey to reunite with Turkish champions Galatasaray.
