Turkish sports journalist Uğur Meleke has said Victor Osimhen is one of the world’s top strikers and explained why the Nigerian star is better than Swedish footballer Viktor Gyökeres in front of goal.
Meleke firmly placed the Galatasaray loanee among the elite forwards in global football, insisting that his all-around game and finishing ability set him apart from the Sporting CP striker.
According to Turkish news outlet Habersarikirmizi, Meleke argued that Osimhen deserves a place among the top five strikers in the world, alongside prolific scorers like Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, and Lautaro Martinez. The pundit emphasized that Osimhen’s physical presence, movement, and consistency make him a more complete number nine than Gyökeres, despite the Swede’s impressive goal-scoring record in Portugal.
Meleke further asserted that Osimhen’s talent is so substantial that a move to an elite club like Real Madrid, Manchester City, or Liverpool would not be surprising. He concluded that the Nigerian international’s current performances on loan at Galatasaray only reinforce his belief that Osimhen operates at a higher level than Gyökeres in the striker position.
