Dutch Eredivisie side SBV Vitesse winger Dillion Hoogewerf has confirmed his ambition to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria, citing a deep personal connection to his maternal heritage.

The 22-year-old forward, who remains eligible to represent the African giants, stated that playing for the Super Eagles is his ultimate career dream, emphasizing that the nation's culture aligns perfectly with his identity.

According to reports, Hoogewerf—who was born to a Nigerian mother and Dutch father—feels a stronger bond with Nigeria despite having previously represented the Netherlands at various youth levels. The attacker believes the time is right to honor his roots, expressing that the passion and vibrancy of Nigerian football culture suit his character and playing style better than the European setup.

Hoogewerf, currently plying his trade in the top flight of Dutch football, would add attacking depth to the Super Eagles' ranks if he completes the formal process of switching his international status from the Netherlands to Nigeria.
