Nigerian music star Wizkid’s 2019 hit song ‘Joro’ has reportedly gained a certified platinum plaque in France. The recognition comes nearly six years after the track’s initial release.

According to a post on the X handle of NTANetwork, the Afrobeat star was awarded the new certification by SNEP (Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique), France’s official music certification body. ‘Joro’ has now surpassed 30 million streams in the country, which is the official threshold required for Platinum status under the current SNEP guidelines.

This latest achievement adds to the global success of the record. In 2022, ‘Joro’ was certified Gold in Canada, signifying over 40,000 units in sales. More recently, in November 2024, the track became eligible for Gold certification in the United States from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after surpassing 500,000 units sold.

With this new recognition, ‘Joro’ becomes Wizkid’s fifth SNEP plaque in France, further solidifying his commercial impact and longevity within the international music scene.
