Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Wizkid has added another major accolade to his illustrious career, being named one of the winners at the African Personalities of the Year 2025 awards.
According to a post by HYPETRIBE, Wizkid was honored as the African Artiste of the Year at the West Africa On Point Awards. The prestigious recognition, marked by a gold tag, places him at the forefront of the continent’s music scene, alongside other top Nigerian international stars such as Asake, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Omah Lay, and Davido, who also feature prominently in the year’s top rankings.
This latest achievement comes on the heels of a strong 2025 awards season for Wizkid. Although he was nominated for a Grammy in 2025—ultimately losing the award to South African singing sensation Tyla—he has now been crowned the best African artist of the year, solidifying his enduring influence and dominance in the global music industry.
