Arsenal captain Bukayo Saka has expressed satisfaction after his team secured an important victory while title rivals Manchester City dropped points in the Premier League race.
According to the Arsenal reports, Saka revealed that the squad only realized later that City had failed to secure maximum points. “We didn’t know the score but I heard the fans on the pitch and I felt like something good might have happened at Manchester City. It is a nice feeling, but like we said we try to focus on just getting the result done and the rest is out of our control,” the Arsenal captain said after the match with Brighton.
Saka further explained that the title race remains extremely close and every result could play a significant role as the season progresses. “We know we are in a race and it’s very tight and it’s been like that for the last few years. We both needed to win tonight and we did and they didn’t so we are definitely going to enjoy this,” he said, adding that Arsenal will continue to concentrate on winning their matches regardless of other results.
