Yamal Hat-Trick Fires Barcelona Past Villarreal 4-1

Barcelona extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table with a commanding 4-1 victory over Villarreal at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Tuesday night. The win solidifies their position at the summit, moving them 13 points clear of their opponents, who remain fifth.


The home side's attacking prowess was on full display, with Spanish winger Lamine Yamal delivering a standout performance by netting a hat-trick. The 17-year-old sensation opened the scoring in the 28th minute and doubled the lead in the 37th minute. Although Senegalese midfielder Pape Gueye pulled one back for Villarreal in the 49th minute, Yamal restored Barcelona's two-goal cushion with his third in the 69th minute. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski then added a late fourth in the 90th minute to seal the emphatic victory in this league encounter.


The result keeps Barcelona firmly on course for the league title with 64 points from 26 matches, boasting a superior goal difference of +43. Villarreal, with a +19 goal difference, remain on 51 points in the race for European qualification.
