Raffaele Palladino has been officially unveiled as the new Atalanta head coach, signing a contract until June 2027. The 41-year-old Italian tactician, who previously managed Monza and Fiorentina, takes over in Bergamo following the sacking of Ivan Juric. Palladino inherits a strong squad and is tasked with improving the team's position after a disappointing run of form that left the club in the bottom half of Serie A.

The new boss was quick to reassure Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman of his importance, despite recent speculation surrounding the player's future and a failed summer exit. Lookman had a standout 2023/2024 season and remains a central figure at the club.

Palladino confirmed he had reached out to the Super Eagles international: "I phoned all the players who were away on national team duty, and Ademola presented himself very well to me." The coach added a direct message for the star: "Lookman is crucial. I will evaluate his role based on what I see in his training sessions, just like all the others." This clear focus on performance signals a fresh start for Lookman under the new leadership.
