During a training camp in Rabat, Morocco, the Nigerian Super Eagles team boycotted a session over unpaid bonuses and allowances from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The protest occurred on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, just ahead of their crucial World Cup playoff match against Gabon.

According to reports, the unpaid bonuses and allowances for the Super Eagles dated back several years, accumulating from various competitions. The outstanding payments included bonuses for qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, bonuses for reaching the 2026 World Cup playoffs, and general match allowances for players and officials.

Team is UNITED and focussed as before on representing NIGERIA with our maximum for the games ahead!” The resolution was further confirmed by a subsequent video from Super Eagles journalist Kelechiafc, showing the team united and training with their focus restored for the upcoming match.
