Atalanta Axes Juric After Heavy Defeat to Sassuolo

Atalanta BC has officially parted ways with head coach Ivan Jurić after a disappointing start to the 2025-26 season. The 50-year-old Croatian was appointed on June 6, 2025, tasked with succeeding the highly successful Gian Piero Gasperini. However, Jurić's tenure proved short-lived, culminating in his dismissal following a string of poor performances that saw the team win just two of his 11 Serie A matches in charge.

The team's struggles have been evident across all competitions. As of November 11, 2025, Atalanta has played 15 matches this season, securing only four victories. This form has translated to a concerning 16th-place standing in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, despite having collected seven points from their four matches in the competition so far.

The final blow was a decisive three-goal home defeat to Sassuolo, which sealed Jurić's fate. In a clean sweep, the Bergamo club also relieved his entire closest staff members of their duties. This group includes assistants Matteo Paro and Miguel Veloso, along with Paolo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojić, and Michele Orecchio. The search for a new manager will now begin as the club seeks to reverse its fortunes.
