Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in Nigeria, finds himself at the center of a personal controversy. The politician, who married Nollywood actress Regina Daniels in May 2019, now feels misled after allegations surfaced that his wife's actual age was different from what she had told him.

The situation came to light from Regina Daniels' own past social media activity, where she reportedly stated she was 17 years old before getting married. This revelation caused significant public concern, with many people questioning the 64-year-old senator's decision to marry someone young enough to be his granddaughter.

In response, Senator Nwoko has taken to social media to present his evidence and defend his reputation. He shared a copy of her national identity card on his Twitter handle, revealing the age he was shown before their marriage. He stated, “During my first meeting with Regina, I asked her age, and she told me she was 21 years old. I further asked if she had any document to support this, and she presented her INEC voter's card, which clearly shows that she was born on October 10th, 1998.”

The senator insists that based on this verified document, Regina is currently 27 years old, and any suggestion that he married a minor is false. He has urged the public to treat the allegations with caution, also pointing to what he describes as Regina's ongoing challenges with mental health and rehabilitation from drug addiction.
