New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed his profound disappointment over being labeled a ‘stranger’ despite his many contributions to the party. The Vice President addressed these personal attacks, which have overshadowed his long-standing service and dedication to the NPP's cause.
During a conference with supporters, Dr. Bawumia conveyed his deep discomfort while addressing the issue. He stated, “The current situation in political parties has caused significant damage to many lives, while others have benefited immensely. For me personally, I have also done a lot for the NPP party.” He further revealed, “Sometimes I have heard very hurtful things from other parties. Some of my colleagues go around calling me a slave and a stranger, and an outcast who was brought into the NPP.”
Dr. Bawumia challenged this narrative by referencing the party's history. He argued, “People who call me a slave and a stranger have no idea about how the NPP was formed. When you look at the history of the NPP Party, you will discover that we started with an amalgamation of parties from different regions that came together to form the NPP.”
