Nigerian business mogul and nightlife entertainer, Cubana Chief Priest, has shared an emotional story about his upbringing, revealing how his late mother once dreamed of him becoming a Catholic priest. According to him, his mother prayed earnestly for the fruit of the womb for more than six years before giving birth to his elder brother, whom she named Onyinyechukwu, meaning “Gift from God.” A year later, she gave birth to Cubana Chief Priest under difficult health conditions, naming him Chibuike, which translates to “God is my strength.”

Growing up, his mother dedicated him to God, promising that he would serve as a priest. He tried to fulfill her dream by seeking admission to the seminary, but he could not make it into the Catholic priesthood. Reflecting on this, he admitted that although many are called, few are chosen. Despite not becoming a priest, he believes that he is still carrying out God’s work in his own way.

Chief Priest revealed that this year marks ten years since the passing of his mother, a loss that deeply shaped his journey. He admitted to living with the guilt of not fulfilling her wish of being called “Mama Father,” yet he finds solace in the blessings and success he has achieved. From family and fame to wealth, music, and connections, he considers his accomplishments a testament to divine grace.

As a way of honoring his late mother, he announced the release of a special Catholic thanksgiving song, featuring rapper Zoro and produced by Masterkraft. According to him, life may not always follow the path we or our parents dream of, but God’s purpose always prevails.
