Reflecting on his time in South Africa with the national team, Iwobi described the country as "really nice," but highlighted the disciplined focus required at a high-level training camp. He revealed a key sacrifice players make, noting, "the problem we have is we can't leave our hostel, we can explore, we can really see the whole of South Africa." Despite the restrictions, the Fulham star expressed a desire to return as a tourist one day, adding, "maybe even one day or when I get a few days off I would like to visit."
Shifting focus to club matters, Iwobi was asked about the impact of Fulham's new signing, his international teammate Samuel Chukwueze. The midfielder was full of praise for the winger's abilities, stating that Chukwueze is "a very talented player, he's good in dribbling and bringing entertainment to the club."
Iwobi also provided insight into why Chukwueze has often been labelled as underrated. "Chukwueze is called the most underrated player because his stats might not be the best," Iwobi explained, "but his performance on the pitch make a lot of chances to score." This suggests that while his goal and assist numbers may not always capture the full picture, his overall contribution and chance creation are highly valued by those within the game.
On whoscored note, Iwobi has begun the season in solid form for Fulham. He has made seven appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Demonstrating his reliability in possession, the midfielder boasts an impressive 80% passing completion rate, accumulating 547 minutes of action so far.
